Tivoli Audio PAL Carry Bag for iPAL and PAL Review

This bag is specifically designed for the Tivoli iPal and includes two side pockets and a carry strap. One of the pockets is designed to carry an iPod or mp3 player as it has an opening in the flap that allows for cables to pass from the player to the radio while the pocket is closed (Velcro strips prevent the pockets from accidentally opening). The other pocket has no opening in the flap. The pockets are the same size and are NOT big enough to hold the radios AC adapter. The radio fits perfectly into the bag, which is designed to allow access to all controls, inputs and antenna. The carry strap is long enough to fit over the shoulder and is very securely attached (sewn) to the bag. It's made of a heavy cotton, almost canvas like material and will protect the radio from the usual dings and scratches that result from every day use.

A little pricey, but well made, both in quality and design.

Tivoli Audio SSPIANO Top-Firing 3-Inch Full Range Stereo Speaker (Piano Black/Silver) Review

Designed specifically for the Tivoli Model Satellite Radio and Tivoli Model Three AM/FM clock radio-both of which feature only a single built-in speaker. This top firing stereo speaker lets you hear what you've been missing. Simply plug the 15 foot cable into your Tivoli radio's right-channel RCA speaker output to enjoy rich, full-bodied, hi-fidelity stereo sound. The frequencies sound just right thanks to the 3 inch full range driver, which is timbre matched to the Model Satellite and Model Three drivers. Meanwhile, the top-firing orientation offers a nice alternative to traditional front-firing speakers, particularly in rooms with plenty of tabletop or shelf space (the Model Satellite and Model Three's speakers are also top-firing). Thanks to the extra-long 15 foot cable, you can locate the speaker far apart from the main unit, ensuring a truly expansive stereo image and convicing soundstage.

Boston Acoustics HDUOIMDNT Horizon Duo-I System For Ipod(R) With Am/Fm Radio (Midnight) Review

We bought this largely on the strength of the many positive reviews here on Amazon. I apparently missed the few that mentioned the problem we discovered after it arrived.

If, like us, you are among the many folks getting an iPod Touch with a new laptop as part of Apple's annual summer promotion, please be aware that this unit from Boston Acoustics is NOT COMPATIBLE with the iPod Touch 2nd Gen. The iPod Touch 2nd Generation is the current model at the time I'm writing this. Any new iPod Touch purchased after early September 2008 is 2nd Generation.

It also seems to be incompatible with the iPhone 3G (any iPhone bought after mid-July 2008), but I can't verify this from personal experience. I would tend to trust these reports however, based on the similarity in the iPhone and iPod Touch hardware. It would appear that there is some technical challenge introduced with these newer devices that Boston Acoustics has been unable to meet, even though they have had over a year to do so. I was unable to find any mention of this in their literature.

This system does sound good in other modes. We bought it also for the iPod functionality. So, even though all the promotional pictures of this unit (including those on the BA website) feature an iPod Touch sitting in the dock, and might lead you believe otherwise, if that were a current model Touch it would **not** work.

Tivoli Audio Model Subwoofer for Model Two, Black/Silver Review

I was wholly unimpressed with the Model Subwoofer. I read the rave reviews of the whole Tivoli Model Two line and purchased the Model Two stereo and the Model Subwoofer.

First, let me say that the Model Two stereo is really good. The sound is very clear and transparent across many genres of music. I love Jazz, Techno, Classical and Rock, so I demand a lot from my listening gear. Listening to the Model Two almost reminds me of listening to reference speakers, I could really hear the mix very well. Everyone is right about the FM tuner, I live in Madison Heights and have no problem receiving NPR from Ann Arbor.

I'm glad the subwoofer shipped a day later. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had the pleasure of enjoying the Model Two on it's own. First, the connections on the subwoofer were loose. Then, after I got the cables plugged in, I tried it out, and wow, what a huge disappointment! Wow! I was so underwhelmed that I felt completely ripped off. The bass was muddy, it sounds like the subwoofer is reproducing frequencies as high as 200Hz, which makes the bass muddy, and draws attention to it.

On the plus side, the cabinet looks very nice. Now let me box it back up before it gets scratched.

I highly recommend using a subwoofer with the Model Two. But use another subwoofer, not the Tivoli. I am using a KLH subwoofer which was purchased for less money and it sounds much better.

Tivoli Audio SongBook AM / FM Alarm Clock Travel Radio, Yellow Review

I read many reviews for the songbook before I purchased one. First of all the difference in sound between the songbook and the PAL is very little. I will admit that the PAL has a little more bass because the enclosure is deeper but they both have the same speaker. The Songbook is a fine portable radio and is very small in size, but big on sound. The screen is easily read, even though it is a little annoying how when switched on the time reverts to the top of the screen (especially when switched to AUX) where it is a little hard to read. FM reception is very good especially with the antenna extended, AM reception is excellent and it pulls in weak stations pretty well. Battery life is great with 6 "AA" 2400MAH rechargeable batteries installed it will last about 17 hours. All in all this radio is worth the price and should give you much enjoyment.
